Disney Adventure

It seems that Mickey does love the ocean. He began in 1998 with a few cruise ships and is expanding his fleet with the Disney Treasure in 2024 and the Disney Adventure in 2025. Even more large ships are planned through 2030, and Mickey's collection is shaping up to rival even Jack Sparrow's fleet.

Disney knows a thing or two about adventuring

Say hi to Disney Adventure, the next cruise ship that is getting more and more hype with each passing day. The Disney Adventure is already new in the fact that it will have its homeport in Asia! The new juggernaut is set to embark on three and four-night voyages from Singapore's Marina Bay Cruise Centre in 2025 for the next five years.

The Disney Adventure will set sail on December 15, 2025, with tickets going on sale on December 10, 2024. Prices will be unveiled on November 14, 2024, making it the perfect time to start planning your next trip to the other side of the world.

Do you know what’s actually really surprising? The Disney Adventure isn’t a brand new ship that was actually created from scratch. It was actually bought from another company, and is in the process of an entire design change so it can be called part of Disney. That might explain how this ship is launching next year. I guess Pixie Dust really makes things easier and changes go super fast!

So… what to expect from the Disney Adventure?

The Disney Adventure, much like a theme park, will be divided into seven different areas:

  • Disney Imagination Garden
  • Disney Discovery Reef
  • San Fransokyo Street
  • Marvel Landing
  • Toy Story Place
  • Town Square
  • Wayfinder Bay

Disney Imagination Garden

This thing looks awesome. This is what Disney has to say: “Start your unforgettable journey in the Disney Imagination Garden, inspired by 100 years of heroic and heartwarming Disney tales. Here, you and your loved ones can shop, dine or catch a stunning performance amid an enchanted valley with a charming garden and majestic stage before setting out on your next adventure.”

This is an indoor area similar to the Royal Caribbean Promenade. A beautiful indoor garden with what looks like real trees, carpets, grass, plants and a lot of entertainment options based on Disney IPs. Can you imagine walking around this place and being welcomed by Aladdin and Jasmine, or walking a few more steps and watching Maribel and her family having dinner? They could even make this area better with a few carnival games, magic tricks and music presentations from time to time.

Avengers Assemble!

Disney is big. Marvel is big. It’s no wonder that Disney would put Marvel inside another one of their ships. Hey, this one is called the Disney Adventure, and the Avengers are used to… adventuring… so it makes sense to see them here. According to Disney, “Prepare for jaw-dropping stunts, incredible special effects and an epic battle at sea as the mightiest Super Heroes of the Marvel Universe face off against their most threatening villains in the action-packed live show Avengers Assemble!”

Not much to be said about this one. What heroes will be available for us to see and take pictures with? Are we talking about a big, huge show that takes place once a night? There’s a lot they could do with the Avengers!

Discovery Reef

Do you like dining? What about shopping? This is the perfect area for you. This place will have restaurants and a lot of shopping options inspired by IPs like “The Little Mermaid”, “Lilo & Stitch”, “Finding Nemo”, “Luca” and “Big Hero 6”. Disney also promises that you will find a lot of entertainment options in this district, complete with arcades, interactive games and cinemas. Sounds like the perfect place for some VR videogames.

Town Square

I suspect that the Town Square will have a classic, fantasy, medieval feel to it. It seems that Disney Princess will dominate this area, which will be themed as an enchanted village in a forest. Expect to find shops, lounges, cafes, and venues inspired by popular IPs like “Tangled,” “Frozen,” “Snow White,” and more. This could be the perfect spot for meet-and-greets, so parents better get used to it.

Toy Story Place

This one is all about Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the incredible Slinky Dog. Toy Story Place is set to feature a waterpark, but I’d love to see a Kids Club based here as well. Imagine a Kids Club inspired by Toy Story, perhaps with a touch of “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,” where everything around you looks big and imposing. It’s okay, Disney, this idea is free of charge.

Wayfinder Bay

Wayfinder Bay seems to be the outdoor area near the swimming pools. Expect lots of awesome water activities and entertainment options inspired primarily by Moana! I do hope that Mauia makes an appearance as well. Actually, can you imagine a cool outdoor show with Moana and Maui, where Maui shapeshifts into different beasts that are actually a trick of lights and drones? That might be too complex, but one man can dream…

What about the future?

There is still a lot we don’t know about the Disney Adventure, from special restaurants to shows, rooms, onboard attractions and more. They do have the first “Disney Attraction” onboard the Disney Wish, so I expect they will have something similar onboard the Disney Adventure. A big, awesome ride that could very well be part of Disney World.

It’s also important to note that there is no sign of Star Wars so far, and if the seven thematic lands are final, it looks like Jedis and Siths won’t be allowed inside the Adventure. That’s fine, taking into account that the Adventure seems to focus more on Marvel and both old and new Disney IPs.

What about you, what would you love to see onboard this new ship? We would love to hear from you. Keep in mind that the Adventure starts in 2025 in Singapore. Send us a message if you are planning a trip to Asia next year and we will make sure to lend you a hand!
