Ahoy, Disney fans! It's a new day and the sun is shining towards a golden pot… or should I say, a golden ship? We are positively buzzing with anticipation for the upcoming addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet set to sail next year.
For a while, we were left in the dark without any details about the ship's name, potential themes, or which characters might make an appearance. Nada… Until now!
Name and theme have risen to the surface
These are the kinds of news that keep us tossing and turning at night. We have been left in the shadows, anxiously pondering and trying to find out the name of the thrilling new DCL ship and what surprises lie in store. The Mickey of the Seas? Steamboat Mega-Willie? Nope.

Thankfully Disney has brought us some peace of mind (thanks, Mickey). The official name has been announced!
Say hi to the Disney Destiny.
She will be joining her sisters Disney Wish and Disney Treasure in 2025.
The name “Destiny” sounds not only magical, but like you are about to immerse as a main character in your own story. “You will find your destiny” or “It's your destiny”, right? Or maybe Luke's destiny to save his father and become a Jedi? Or my destiny to go to Disney at least once a year!? Of course, it makes total sense with the theme chosen for the ship.

Heroes & Villains. This will be the first DCL ship created around this fun and exciting concept. It reminds me a little bit of the Halloween special, Mickey’s House of Villains, in which a strong rivalry between heroes and villains takes place during the show.
But this time the iconic duality will be taking over the seas. Captain Mickey will be on vacation, and Minnie Mouse will be taking the lead. Yes, hero Minnie is on board for this great adventure. Yes, this ship comes equipped with lore.
What can you expect?
Guests will have the chance to encounter many of their favorite heroes and villains from the most popular Disney stories. From Hercules and Mufasa to the nostalgic One Hundred and One Dalmatians.
All of them will be found in different spots and will be part of unique experiences and entertainment options along the journey. How exciting. I really wish Pegasus would be around, I can’t wait to take a pic with him. So adorable! Oh, he could even take me to Castaway Cay and back to the ship, no need for boats!
Minnie Mouse is the Icon
Yes, as we mentioned before, Minnie Mouse will be the hero of this ship. Now that's a surprise. It's such a powerful move, she really knows how to handle the evil pals and make sure everyone enjoys their time on board Destiny. This artwork is the perfect embodiment of her heroic skills. This magical symbol was employed to commemorate the milestone achieved by the Disney Destiny. This symbol, etched in history, marked the beginning of the new construction and bestowed good fortune upon the project. And who better to grace this monumental occasion than Minnie herself?
