Dining Types to Sandals Royal Plantation
There isn’t much to choose from at Sandals Royal Plantation, but it doesn’t mean that the food is bad. You have three main restaurants: Le Papillon which offers French cuisine, The Terrace that specializes in local cuisine and Royal Grill that is all about a nice steak. Other than that, you also have at your disposal a place for a nice afternoon tea and an English pub where you can have a nice drink and some onion rings.
Just a heads up: if you have any allergies, inform the front desk upon arrival so meals can be prepared with your health in mind.
Butler Suites & Dining Options
Remember that every room at Sandals Royal Plantation is a Butler Elite Suite? This means that your butler can also assist with dining. They can serve you lunch, dinner, culinary treats, your favorite cocktails, and champagne from any restaurant or bar, whether it’s on the beach, poolside, or in your suite. If you have a favorite restaurant but prefer to enjoy your meal on your private balcony, just let your butler know in advance.

Not really, no. I’d say that all the restaurants at Sandals Royal Plantation offer either à la carte or buffet options for breakfast, where you can sit down and enjoy your meal in peace.
What do you wear to dinner in Sandals Royal Plantation?
Many guests often wonder what to wear for dinner. ‘Do I need to dress up? Should I bring a fancy dress or the tuxedo I wore to my high school prom?’ Relax, friends. As of now, only one restaurant requires Resort Evening Attire: Le Papillon. According to Sandals, Resort Evening Attire means “Dress pants or jeans for men, long or short sleeve dress shirts (with or without collar). Dress shoes or sandals. No shorts, t-shirts, sleeveless shirts, sneakers, flip flops or slippers. No hats.”
All other restaurants follow a Resort Casual dress code, so you can enjoy your meal in shorts and a t-shirt.
Where to go for Breakfast at Sandals Royal Plantation?
There is only one spot for breakfast at Sandals Royal Plantation: The Terrace. You can choose items from the buffet or order from the à la carte menu. The Terrace is open for breakfast from 7:30am to 11:00am.

Le Papillon

This is probably the best restaurant at Sandals Royal Plantation, a very upscale, romantic venue that requires both a reservation and that you dress fancy to enjoy a délicieux meal. Do try the herb crusted rack of lamb and the french onion soup, as well as the house’s signature drink, known as L’Aphrodisiaque. The Scallop Appetizer and the Grilled Lobster Entrée also get amazing reviews. If you are staying at Sandals Royal Plantation, you need to come to this place at least once.
The Terrace
- Type: Resort Casual, Caribbean cuisine, reservations required for dinner, breakfast, lunch dinner.
- Hours: 7:30am-11am; 12:30-2:30pm; 6:30pm-9:30pm
This is one of the main restaurants at Sandals Royal Plantation open for every meal you can think of. The Tea Terrace is the only option for breakfast, offering both a buffet and à la carte options, complete with an omelet station. It provides a more laid-back atmosphere for lunch, and during dinner, it serves dishes featuring a protein, sauce, and a side dish. The menu may change from time to time due to themed dining events, so you might experience Jamaican Night or Italian Night with dishes inspired by each respective cuisine. You can also enjoy beautiful views of the ocean while dining here.
Royal Grill

- Hours: 11:30am-4:30pm; 6:30pm-8:30pm
This is a charming restaurant that overlooks the beach and offers exotic grilled food. Similar to The Terrace, it has a laid-back atmosphere during the early hours and becomes a more sophisticated venue for dinner that requires advanced reservations and features a variety of seafood options. For lunch, it serves comfort food such as hamburgers, jerk chicken, and pork ribs.
Tea Terrace
- Type: Resort Casual, Tea/Biscuits, afternoon snacks.
- Hours: 4pm-5pm
Do you want to have English tea like a true English gentleman? You’ve come to the right place. The Tea Terrace is all about experiencing the lifestyle of the Royal Family… or maybe the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland… for one hour, with a big selection of tea, biscuits, sandwiches and cakes. This is just a very cozy spot that is great for recharging energies, so make sure to be part of this experience at least once.
Wobbly Peacock
- Type: Resort Casual, English Pub, snacks, open until late.
- Hours: 3pm-12am
This is one of the best spots on the property for a good drink. Enjoy ales like Guinness and Newcastle Brown Ale, a variety of cocktails, and classic items such as chicken wings and onion rings.
