YES, you do!
Yes, a passport is a must. International visitors, including U.S. citizens, are required to have a valid passport. Additionally, proof of your planned departure from the country may be required by immigration. If you are traveling aboard a cruise, the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) will probably accept compliant documents, but having a passport is strongly advised, especially for emergencies.
Flying to Saint Vincent & the Grenadines?
Passports are essential for air travel, of course. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months past your departure date and has a blank page for entry stamps. U.S. citizens, relax because no visa is required!
What about cruising to Saint Vincent & the Grenadines?
In this case, you have a few options. You can show your passport or opt for another VHTI-compliant document like the passport card, driver’s license, or Trusted Traveler Program (NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST). If you are on a Caribbean cruise, a state-issued ID (driver’s license) and original birth certificate for the little ones is enough, but the U.S. State Department and Famvia recommend a passport in case of unexpected air travel needs!
