Sandals Grande Antigua features a total of eleven restaurants, with some located on the western side near the Caribbean rooms and others on the eastern side, close to the Mediterranean rooms. Interestingly, there are no restaurants in the central area, which is primarily focused on the Rondoval Suites (some of the best Butler Elite Suites available) and a few swimming pools.
The food at Sandals Grande Antigua is generally considered average. The resort offers Italian, Japanese, and Southwestern restaurants, but I find it odd that there isn't a French restaurant at such a romantic destination. I also wish there was at least one standout dining option for a resort of this size. Most of the restaurants here, like Kimonos, Barefoot by the Sea, Mario’s, and Bayside, are found at other Sandals properties. For a resort this large, with numerous awards, a unique dining experience would be well-deserved.

Restaurants at Sandals Grande Antigua that require reservation
Sandals usually has a few restaurants that require reservations, and making them should be a top priority for you. As soon as you arrive at the resort, make sure to visit the front desk (or call them) to set up a time for these restaurants. There are many fun restaurants to explore at Sandals Grande Antigua. While I do wish there was an outstanding option, you still have the opportunity to try 11 different restaurants, and there’s a good chance you’ll love at least one of them.
Just a heads-up: if you have any allergies, be sure to inform the front desk upon arrival so meals can be prepared with your health in mind.
Are there Quick-service restaurants at Sandals Grande Antigua?
Yes! Some of the most popular options include the Courtyard Bistro, Bella Napoli Pizzeria, and Cafe de Paris. Bella Napoli Pizzeria offers made-to-order pizzas, as well as slices that are ready for you to grab and take back to the pool.
What do you wear to dinner in Sandals Grande Antigua?
Many guests often wonder what to wear for dinner. ‘Do I need to dress up? Should I bring a fancy dress or the tuxedo I wore to my high school prom?’ Relax, friends. As of now, only one restaurant requires Resort Evening Attire: Eleanor’s. According to Sandals, Resort Evening Attire means “Dress pants or jeans for men, long or short sleeve dress shirts (with or without collar). Dress shoes or sandals. No shorts, t-shirts, sleeveless shirts, sneakers, flip flops or slippers. No hats.”
All other restaurants follow a Resort Casual dress code, so you can enjoy your meal in shorts and a t-shirt.
Where to go for Breakfast at Sandals Grande Antigua?
There are four spots for breakfast at Sandals Grande Antigua: Bayside, Eleanor’s, Mario’s and Cafe de Paris.
- Bayside: Buffet, open from 7:30am to 10:30am.
- Eleanor’s: à la carte, open from 7:30am to 10:30am.
- Mario’s: Buffet, open from 7:30am to 11:00am.

Soy Sushi Bar

Soy is a classic restaurant at Sandals, often featured at several Sandals Resorts. Soy is all about traditional sushi, while the other Japanese restaurant - Kimonos - offers a Teppanyaki cooking style with a chef cooking your meal right in front of your eyes. Sit down, relax, and order all the sushi you want! The sushi is pretty good and there are many options, and you can even ask the chefs for their signature rolls and they will surprise you with something even tastier! If you aren’t a big fan of raw fish, they also have many cooked options with shrimp and fish, like the crispy spicy tuna. Crispy sushi is also very good!
Kimonos

Kimonos stands out as one of the most popular and renowned restaurants at Sandals and Beaches Resorts. It offers a Teppanyaki cooking style experience, where skilled chefs perform impressive tricks as they prepare delicious meals on a flat surface grill right in front of you. The food usually gets very good reviews and the entire experience is well worth it, since it’s not every day you will have a chef cooking your food right in front of your eyes.
Barefoot by the Sea
- Type: Resort casual, seafood, beachfront dining, sit-down, lunch, dinner.
- Hours: 11:00am-4:00pm; 6:00pm-9:30pm

A charming option situated right on the beach, this restaurant allows you to enjoy lunch or dinner while taking in the views of Dickenson Bay. You can savor a nice meal accompanied by the ocean breeze, creating a cool and romantic experience. You can try dishes like Antiguan Crab Cake, Chorizo Shrimp Kebab, and other delicious options. I’d probably recommend you to come here for lunch instead of dinner, though.
Le Bistro
- Type: Outside the resort, not included in your Sandals fare, French Cuisine, reservations recommended, dinner.
- Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 6:00pm-11:30pm

Wait, we might be cheating a little here. While this isn’t a restaurant located inside Sandals Grande Antigua, Le Bistro is one of the most classic, charming, and highly regarded restaurants in Antigua. We did mention that the resort lacks a romantic French restaurant, right? We are just fixing this small problem.
Le Bistro receives excellent reviews online and is often considered one of the best restaurants on the island. Dishes range from $50 to $100 - it's certainly not cheap, but the food is of high quality and the atmosphere is top notch. What’s even better is that this restaurant is just 12 minutes away from Sandals Grande Antigua! You should definitely go there.
