The Top 5 Sandals Resorts in 2025

5 - Sandals Royal Curaçao

  • Location: Santa Barbara, Curaçao

Welcome to Sandals' first-ever beach resort on the beautiful island of Curaçao! Before anything else, let me tell you that this island is absolutely gorgeous, filled with cozy little cottages that make you feel like you're walking in a fantasy wonderland. Curaçao is part of the Dutch Overseas Country and Territory and one of the three constituent countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, making it a truly unique destination for those looking to create lifelong memories during their next vacation.

The beach resort is just as beautiful as the island, by the way. Sandals Royal Curaçao launched in 2022 and, like the newest Sandals resorts, is considered part of the Sandals 2.0 collection. What does that mean? It means Sandals is introducing some completely new, innovative and awesome features.

The Good

Sandals 2.0: Some of the newest Sandals resorts are now called "Sandals 2.0" because they bring something entirely unique to the traditional Sandals experience. Sandals Royal Curaçao is a perfect example. The resort features an amazing layout with lush gardens and beautiful flowers, brand-new restaurants exclusive to Curaçao, a two-level infinity pool, and even the opportunity to drive a Mini Cooper if you stay in one of the top-tier Butler Elite Suites. This is a fantastic resort that demonstrates Sandals' commitment to innovation and the future of the brand.

It's Beaaaautiful: Do you love the idea of a romantic, brand-new, and gorgeous resort? Of course you do! Sandals Royal Curaçao is stunning. Many of the buildings resemble classic cottages from medieval movies, giving the resort a fairytale charm. The grounds are equally beautiful, filled with lush trees, vibrant gardens, and plenty of romantic spots to create lifelong memories. You'll find hammocks scattered throughout, lounge chairs, and everything else waiting for you and the love of your life.

Some of the Best Sandals Restaurants: Thanks to Sandals 2.0, Sandals Royal Curaçao has some of the best restaurants across all Sandals resorts, all included in your stay. Names like Gatsu Gatsu, Butch’s Island Chop House, Zuka, and Strand are definitely worth your time at least once. If you enjoy the Soy Sushi Bar at other Sandals resorts, you'll love the sushi offered at Gatsu Gatsu. There are also three food trucks scattered throughout the resort, offering comfort food for those looking for a quick bite. A romantic resort with good food? Yeah, can’t ask for much more.

Great pools: Technically, there are multiple pools at Sandals Royal Curaçao if you count the swim-up pools that belong to some Club Level Rooms and Butler Elite Suites. We decided to put “Great Pools” here mainly because of the infinity pool right in front of the beach. This is a double-deck (or double layer? I never know the right name) infinity pool that looks absolutely amazing. It’s like a big, beautiful box with transparent walls that mixes with another infinity pool, and then the beach! Its like an infinity poolception, and it's great.

The Bad

The Beaches: There are two beaches at Sandals Royal Curaçao, but neither is particularly impressive. The main beach, located just in front of the infinity pool, is rocky and not great for swimming. The other beach, located on the western side, is limited by a pier and faces a canal. While it’s okay for a quick dip, it’s not great for snorkeling or water activities. If you primarily choose a beach resort for its beautiful beaches, then Sandals Royal Curaçao might not be the right fit for you.

A Few Nitpicks: There are some minor issues that don’t warrant their own sections, so I’ll address them here. As I mentioned earlier, the resort can be a bit noisy, especially if you stay in some of the Luxury Rooms near the main pool. From there, you might hear noise from the rooms above, room service, and some of the parties taking place at the beach. Another minor concern is that service at some bars and food trucks can be a bit slow, with drinks taking a while to arrive. However, Sandals has already acknowledged this and is working to improve it.

4 - Sandals Grenada

  • Location: St George’s, Grenada

Sandals Grenada is well known for two things: being a compact resort where everything is close by and for its romantic atmosphere. This beach resort is located in the southern part of the island, extremely close to the airport, with a layout that is very easy to navigate. Most houses create a shield around the pools, restaurants, and most of the activities, while the beach is slightly farther south.

If you hate long trips from the airport to the resort, you’re going to love Sandals Grenada. It might just be the closest beach resort to the... landing strip… ever! Yep. Sandals Grenada is only five minutes from the airport, which means you can arrive on the island and be in your room in record time. Surprisingly, you hardly see or hear any planes while at the resort, since flights to Grenada are not very frequent.

The Good

Close to the airport: Some Sandals Resorts, like Sandals Halcyon Beach and Sandals Ochi, require you to stay in a car for one or two hours to get from the airport to your destination. But that’s not the case with Sandals Grenada! The resort is located just on the other side of the airport, making it a quick 5-minute trip from the landing strip to the comfort of your (new) bed. This is great news, especially after a long flight, when all you want to do is grab a nice cocktail and relax. Even better news? You hardly see or hear airplanes, mostly because flights to Grenada are very rare.

Relatively new: Sandals Grenada launched in 2014, so we can say that it’s still new, right? It features some brand-new rooms that still look fresh, and most of them come with a tranquility soaking tub, which is mostly found in Club Sandals rooms nowadays. Some Butler Elite Suites also have private pools or even Sky Pools. Being new also means it has some of the most popular Sandals restaurants, from Soy Sushi Bar to Butch’s Chophouse.

Staff: The staff members at Sandals Grenada are great. Everyone looks happy and does their best to help you out. The gardeners greet you with a smile and a good morning, the butlers work hard to secure a chair by the pool at 4am, and the bartenders offer you their signature drinks. The staff is amazing all around and is considered one of the best among all Sandals resorts, ranking right up there with Jamaica’s Sandals Royal Plantation.

Atmosphere: Sandals Grenada looks amazing. It’s easy to walk around, and everything is close to you, whether it’s a specific restaurant, the gym, or the spa. This isn’t a tiny resort, but it isn’t huge either; it’s the perfect place for couples seeking a romantic getaway. The resort is very clean, with great staff, two amazing pools, some fun entertainment options that range from shows at the main pool to karaoke nights, and you can also find some quiet, peaceful spots there as well. If you want to relax and have a great time, you can’t go wrong with Grenada.

The Bad

Prices: Sandals Grenada is one of the most expensive Sandals Resorts out there. Rooms start at $370 per night, per guest, which is more than at all the Sandals Resorts in Jamaica. It’s also more expensive than the resorts in Saint Lucia and almost as expensive as the Club Sandals rooms at Sandals Royal Barbados. You are paying for great service and an awesome atmosphere, though, in one of the most charming resorts in the Caribbean.

The beach: I wouldn’t call the beach bad, but it could certainly be better. The beach isn’t big, which is okay since the property isn’t huge, but the sand is a bit plain and may contain rocks. The swimming area is also very restricted, as the sea in Grenada can be a bit rough. If you really care about the beach at a resort, I’d probably look for another destination. The good news, however, is that the beach is private to guests, so you won’t find any beach vendors here.

3 - Sandals Grande St. Lucian

  • Location: Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia

Planning a fun trip to Saint Lucia? Let me tell you, there are plenty of options when it comes to choosing a Sandals Resort on this beautiful and unique island. You can stay at Sandals Regency La Toc, Sandals Halcyon Beach, or Sandals Grande St. Lucian. Did you know that you can move between these three resorts by hopping on a free shuttle, allowing you to enjoy all their activities and restaurants at no additional cost? Yep, there’s a lot to love about Saint Lucia!

Let’s just say that this is likely the best resort in Saint Lucia for those who love a great beach and fantastic restaurants. Among the three Sandals resorts, this one offers the best dining options and probably the best beach as well. The beach, called Rodney Bay, features a long stretch of sand with calm waters, and it offers a beautiful view of Pigeon Island, a landmark of Saint Lucia.

The Good

The most fancy Sandals in Saint Lucia: you read that right, my friend. This is the perfect spot for those seeking a touch more luxury in Saint Lucia. Sandals Grande St. Lucian is the only Sandals on the island with overwater bungalows, essentially houses built above the ocean. This means you can step right outside and practically dive into the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. These rooms are pricier than standard accommodations, of course, but they elevate the romantic atmosphere to new heights.

Pigeon Island: Sandals Grande St. Lucian is also very close to Pigeon Island, a national park and landmark in Saint Lucia. There's now a man-made causeway that connects you to the island, which is just half a mile from the resort! You can explore, hike, take in the stunning views, and enjoy a romantic time with your significant other. Now, do they have pigeons there? I’m not sure.

Three Sandals Resorts: Staying at Sandals Grande St. Lucian gives you the opportunity to visit the other two Sandals resorts for free, allowing you to enjoy all their activities and restaurants. Sandals Grande St. Lucian is located in the northern part of the island, Sandals Halcyon Beach is more centrally located, and Sandals Regency La Toc is further south. Regency La Toc is about 30 minutes from Halcyon and an hour from Grande St. Lucian, with complimentary Sandals shuttles available to transport guests between the resorts.

Beach: This resort features a great beach, likely the best one among Sandals resorts in Saint Lucia. While it’s not a private beach, it is primarily used by resort guests. The beach is situated between Pigeon Island and Rodney Bay, boasting calm, crystal-clear waters and plenty of spots for you to relax on the sand.

Golf: I'm no Tiger Woods. In fact, my knowledge of golf mostly comes from playing Mario Golf on my Nintendo 64. But what I do know is that Sandals Grande St. Lucian is a fantastic destination for golf enthusiasts. Just 25 minutes away from the resort, you'll find golf courses with complimentary transportation provided. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, there are courses available for all skill levels.

The Bad

Getting there: Sandals Grande St. Lucian is located in the north of the island, while the international airport is in the south. The journey can take up to 90 minutes, and due to the many hills in Saint Lucia, you’ll encounter a lot of winding roads. This can be challenging for those prone to motion sickness, so make sure to take your medicine before boarding the complimentary shuttle. Alternatively, you can pay extra to take a helicopter or ferry to Sandals Grande St. Lucian.

2 - Sandals Saint Vincent

  • Location: Argyle, Saint Vincent

Can you smell that?

That, my friends, is the scent of something brand new. More specifically, it’s the scent of a beach resort that opened less than a year ago, in March 2024. That’s right - Sandals Saint Vincent is the latest addition to the roster of adults-only resorts and the first of its kind located on the beautiful island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. If you’re looking for something brand new, with fantastic new rooms and a few features exclusive to this resort, then you’ve come to the right place.

Sandals Saint Vincent is a stunning property, nestled between mountains and evoking the feeling of being in a distant fairytale. Remember those movies like Lord of the Rings where characters run up and down hills with breathtaking scenery in the background? It’s something like that, but with the added bonus of warm weather all year long. This is definitely one of the most beautiful Sandals resorts, featuring brand-new beachfront villas that offer the sand practically right outside your door. Talk about romantic!

The Good

Brand New: Ahhh, I do love new things. The rooms are so clean! The restaurants are so fresh! Even the air smells nice. Good news: Sandals Saint Vincent is not even a year old, having opened on March 27, 2024. When things are new, they’re often better and work smoothly. This means the chance of encountering issues in your room is significantly reduced, there will always be fresh paint on every building, and the property will be updated with the latest technology.

It’s beautiful: Seriously, this place looks amazing. This resort might be the only Sandals property situated in a valley between three mountains. Everywhere you look, you’re surrounded by lush green vegetation and stunning hills on all sides. The property itself is also very beautiful, and the new, more luxurious Butler Elite Suites add to its appeal. If you’re looking for a stunning and romantic resort, you can’t go wrong with Sandals Saint Vincent.

Friendly Staff: The staff at Sandals Saint Vincent is already highly regarded as some of the friendliest among all Sandals properties. This includes waiters, housekeepers, butlers, gardeners, and essentially everyone on the team. There may be a reason for this high praise: Sandals hires locals to work at their properties, and they did the same at Saint Vincent, providing them with at least a year of training. Staff members are still considered brand new, and there is a good chance that they want to show what they are capable of. Or, perhaps, that’s just the spirit of Saint Vincent.

The Butler Elite Suites: There are new butler suite rooms at Sandals Saint Vincent, including the Beachfront Butler Villa Suites, which offer an exclusive view of the beach and its pristine white sand, and also come with a private pool. There’s also a unique perk for booking a Butler Suite that you might not know about: instead of arriving by private car, you can board a boat and reach the island in style! This is a fantastic option for those who may feel motion sickness in a car and provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a fresh perspective of the mountains and the beautiful surroundings.

The Bad

Getting there: This issue actually consists of two parts. First, getting to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines can be more challenging than usual. Flights are limited and tend to be quite expensive depending on the time of year. I recommend checking flight options before booking the resort to find the best time to visit. The second issue arises once you’re in Saint Vincent and traveling to the resort. The drive takes approximately 40 minutes to an hour, winding through the mountains with many twists and turns. If you’re prone to motion sickness, it’s a good idea to take some medication before boarding the bus. However, this problem can be mitigated if you book a Butler Suite and opt to arrive by boat.

1 - Sandals Dunn’s River

  • Location: Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Sandals Resorts©

Sandals Dunn's River, launched in 2023, is known by many as Sandals 2.0. Just like the sequel of a blockbuster video game, this new resort has significantly improved in terms of restaurants, layout, and even the rooms available for you to choose from. The best part? Rooms here aren’t even that expensive, at least not when compared to Sandals Saint Vincent or other Sandals resorts. Sure, it’s pricier than Sandals Ochi and most Sandals resorts in Jamaica, but staying here is well worth it.

So, what makes this resort special? Well, we could simply say that it’s new, and who doesn’t love rooms that still smell of fresh paint, right? We could also mention that this resort is just a few minutes away from Dunn's River Falls, one of the best excursions in all of Jamaica. However, I’d say this resort is special for two main reasons: its restaurants and a modern design that makes everything feel close by while still managing to never feel crowded.

The Good

New & fresh: Sandals Dunn's River launched in 2023, so you know what that means, right? The rooms are new, the buildings look fresh, and the staff is newly trained, eager to impress. We love everything that’s new - usually meaning updated layouts, modern technology, improvements on past issues, and more. If you're looking for a resort with a modern vibe rather than a classic one, Dunn's River is the perfect choice.

Sandals 2.0: This resort is known as Sandals 2.0, and it certainly lives up to the name. It offers brand-new restaurants you won’t find at any other Sandals, with buildings featuring a fresh design and new room options. The layout also makes it easier to get around. We’d love to see future Sandals resorts build on and expand this concept, especially when it comes to offering more dining options. If you’re a fan of Sandals and want to experience a new take on the classic formula, you should definitely visit this resort.

Dining options: Sandals Dunn's River might be one of the best Sandals resorts for those who want to enjoy great dining, especially for guests interested in exploring what Sandals has to offer in terms of food. There are 12 complimentary options to choose from, and most of the restaurants are exclusive to Dunn's River. The food receives excellent reviews online, not only for the variety - ranging from Latin cuisine to Japanese and even Greek - but also for its consistently high quality.

Layout: I particularly love the design of this resort. Everything is conveniently close, even though the resort isn’t small. Nothing feels too spread out, and walkways connect all areas, from the main restaurants to the primary buildings and rooms. The beach is right next to the main swimming pools and bars, with several rooms located at the back of the resort, surrounded by swim-up pools and away from most of the noise and crowds. While this resort can get busy, it never feels overcrowded or claustrophobic.

Golf: Yes, golf is also available at Sandals Dunn’s River! Just 15 minutes away from the resort, you'll find golf courses with complimentary transportation provided. As you know, I’m not a golf expert, but you can start practicing to get those birdies, eagles, falcons and whatever else.

The Bad

Getting there: Reaching Sandals Dunn's River isn’t as complicated as getting to the resorts in Sandals Saint Lucia, but it can still be a bit… boring? I’m not sure if that’s the right word, but let’s go with it. The main issue is that Sandals resorts in Ocho Rios are about 90 minutes away from the airport, so it takes a while to get there. Customs at the airport can also consume valuable time, so it might be a good idea to check our section on Club MoBay if you want to speed up the process.
