Disney Aulani Rooms Guide

Disney Aulani offers four room types:

  • Standard Resort Rooms
  • Deluxe Studios
  • Villas
  • Suites

Every room is located near most of the restaurants, activities, pools, and also the Golf Clubhouse, which is just across the street. The rooms in Aulani are inside huge towers built in a “U” shape, embracing many of the swimming pools and resort areas. This means that your room will likely offer a view of a beautiful garden, someone relaxing by the swimming pool, or kids having fun at the splash zone. There aren’t any rooms directly in front of the beach, but some rooms do have partial ocean views.

Disney Vacation Club

Rooms at Aulani are expensive. You are looking at a price point in 2025 that usually starts at $650 for the most affordable rooms, and that’s considering the low seasons. A lot of guests opt to pay for their stay using Disney Vacation Club points. What is Disney Vacation Club, you might ask? It’s a timeshare that can be a more cost-effective way of taking Disney vacations, if you live and breathe Disney resorts, from Aulani in Hawaii to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Polynesian Village at Disney World.

People who are part of this program use points instead of cash to pay for their stay. The “problem” is that becoming a member of this program can be really expensive. You need to pay upfront for 100 points, which costs around $22,000. Yes, twenty-two thousand dollars. You also owe recurring fees each year for the next few decades, which can reach $900 annually.

As you can see, it’s not cheap being a Disney Vacation Club member! Fret not, friend. Many people who use points for their vacations aren’t even members. Instead, they buy points from actual members and use them for their vacations. Each room type costs a different amount of points depending on the time of year. Deluxe Studios can cost around 18 points per night, for example, and you can find someone selling each point for $20, which makes your stay a bit cheaper.

Oh yeah, remember another thing: rooms reserved for the DVC program tend to sell out rather quickly. We are talking months in advance. If you plan to reserve a spot at Aulani using DVC points, make sure to plan your trip well in advance.

If you want more information about Disney Vacation Club, how to rent Club points and even if you want to rent points from a credible source, you can always send a message to Famvia’s Carlos Hernandez. He can provide comprehensive details about DVC and offer additional tips.

Room types

Don’t worry if the Disney Vacation Club is too hard to understand. It is complicated, and being a DVC member will only be worth it for a few individuals who make use of this program every year (or month). You can always rent a room using good old cash, and let me tell you a secret: if you are traveling with a small party of up to four people, it might be a good idea to stay in a standard resort hotel room.

Let’s check the different room types.

Standard Resort Rooms

Good for: parties of up to 4 guests, if you want to save a bit more money, if you don’t care about the hotel room view.

Price: typically starting at $650.

Guest rooms in this section provide 382 square feet of space, with decorations inspired by the beautiful state of Hawaii. The beds, which can be either two queens or a king, are simply made with white sheets. Don’t expect anything luxurious. Rooms with a king bed also include a retro queen sleeper sofa. There is no kitchen area in the standard resort rooms.

There are five different options of standard resort rooms, but what changes is just the view. Rooms located on the upper floors tend to be more expensive and offer better views. The most affordable rooms give view to the parking garage or the garden, while the most expensive ones give partial ocean views. Standard Resort Rooms accommodate up to 4 guests.

Deluxe Studios

Good for: parties of up to 4 guests, you want a kitchen area with a microwave

Price: typically starting at $700.

Deluxe Studios include a kitchen area, making them a great choice for families with young children and infants. These rooms give access to a microwave and a refrigerator. Covering 356 square feet, the rooms feature a queen bed, a queen sleeper sofa, an entertainment center with a flat-panel TV, a coffee table with storage, and a table with chairs for two.

There are four different types of studios, offering views similar to the Standard Rooms. You can choose a room on the top floor with a partial ocean view or save some money by opting for a room with a view of the gardens or the parking garage. Deluxe Studios accommodate up to 4 guests.

Villas

Good for: parties of 5 up to 12 guests, if you want more luxury.

Price: typically starting at $1000, depending on the number of guests and type of Villa.

Villas are good for families or friends that are traveling together and want to share expenses. Villas are divided into 1, 2 and 3 bedroom accommodations, making it a good choice for a big party of guests. 1-Bedroom Villas are 750 square feet and feature a kitchen area with a full sized refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and kitchen utensils. The bathroom has a shower, a whirlpool tub, and a separate toilet area.

1-Bedroom Villas accommodate up to 5 guests, while 2-Bedroom Villas (1,100 square feet) are for 9 guests and 3-Bedroom Villas are for 12 guests.

Suites

Good for: parties of up to 5 guests, if you want nothing but luxury.

Price: typically starting at $1400 for the Parlor Suite and $3400 for the Signature Suite.

Suites at Aulani are divided into the Parlor Suite and the Signature Suite. These represent the most luxurious accommodations, but you know what’s weird? The Parlor Suites surprisingly lack a kitchen! No refrigerator, no microwave, nothing. On the other hand, the Signature Suite does feature a kitchen area with all the amenities. It's odd that one of the most expensive room types in the entire resort forgot about the kitchen.

The Parlor Suite is quite similar to the 1-Bedroom Villa, albeit slightly larger at 764 square feet, and always offers partial ocean views. The real star is the Signature Suite. Though pricey, it boasts 1528 square feet, a fully equipped kitchen, whirlpool, and stunning views from the 16th floor of the Waianae Tower.

Prices

It’s time for what we’ve been waiting for. Prices!

Here's an overview of the different room types and their average prices per night. The simulations are based on rooms for two adults and two children, excluding taxes. We are also considering starting prices for rooms with less impressive views, typically facing the garden or the parking garage.

Like every hotel and resort, prices at Aulani vary widely depending on factors such as the number of guests per room, your travel dates, holidays, and more. However, this table serves as a helpful starting point to assist you in planning your trip.

As we mentioned before in one of our guides, May stands out as one of the best months to visit Aulani. Not only is it close to summer, but you can also enjoy the fantastic weather and favorable pricing.
